I had a sudden gastric attack last week which caused me to appreciate life a lil bit more than i used to. For a moment, i thought i was never gonna make it. I've never felt so much pain before. I was practicaly left breathless with shooting pain from below the chest right through the back which made standing impossible for me. I had to cringe in pain in a fetal postion until the husband came to my rescue. I just can't describe how bad it was cos no words can sum it up. However, i do hope i had learnt a good lesson there and step up in taking my diet seriously.

So, i googled on gastritis and its severity if it were to be taken lightly.

While many cases of gastritis are caused by the H. pylori bacterium, which attacks the stomach lining, a lot of gastritis patients are the victim of something that actually belongs in the system: stomach acid. There are a number of gastritis treatments available, which one depends on the type of gastritis.

Your stomach naturally has acids to break down and digest foods. Your stomach has a very strong lining that stops these acids from getting out into the rest of your body, where they would be corrosive and harmful. But sometimes something happens to your stomach lining that makes it weak, thus letting the acids out and causing pain and discomfort. Gastritis — which refers to an inflamed stomach lining, regardless of the cause — is the result.

If the cause of your gastritis is indeed stomach acid rather than bacteria, there are a number of ways of treating it. For mild, occasional flares of gastritis, simple over-the-counter medications such as Maalox and Mylanta — basic antacids — may alleviate the symptoms. If the problem is ongoing, however, or becomes severe, you should see a doctor to determine whether it’s serious enough for a prescription.

And, here are 8 steps which can help in identifying gastritis and to prevent/overcome it.

Step1 Suffering from heartburn and discomfort in the stomach after eating are signs of Chronic

Gastritis. After eating certain foods the digestive system becomes upset and the person

feels a burning sensation under their breastbone. Heartburn is a sign of indigestion.

Step2 Loss of appetite especially in the morning but improving during the day is an additional

sign of this stomach disorder. When an eating disorder is evident investigate the foods

that are being eaten. Choose food items that will settle well on your stomach.

Step3 Chronic belching is a prominent symptom, the belching is happens directly after each

meal that you have and at times seems to last for several minutes then it subsides. This

is followed by a sickening feeling in the stomach area. Nausea and vomiting mainly of

saliva and mucus and very little food is another sign of Chronic Gastritis.

Step4 Eliminate those foods which cause the stomach upset, tomatoes contain acid and

therefore may be a contributor to the Chronic Gastritis. Pizza is another fast food

product that causes stomach upset. Eliminating that product from you diet will assist

you in living pain free. Other food items that can cause upset include pies and pastries.

Step5 Add vitamin supplements to your diet, include vitamin A, B and C. If stomach is still

upset use one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda with water to help assist the ease of the

stomach pain.

Step6 Change the diet to include foods like chicken, lamb, boiled fish especially whiting and

sole are helpful to the person. Eliminate foods such as cabbage, fried foods, reheated

food, and overcooked food. Fats and sugars should be taken in moderation.

Step7 Drink plenty of water during the day. Water assists in flushing the body system and is

actually good for your body.

Step8 Watch for a sudden weight loss. The unwillingness to eat a meal due to the

uncomfortable feeling that occurs after eating may be a cause for the weight loss.

4th of March was a day i had been waiting for.

It was like a dream come true.

I remembered vividly how i scoured for a pair of tickets while i was in Spore but it was sold out

islandwide.

I was more than devastated, honestly.

There were no other concerts i had wanted to go to so badly.

So, i resigned to fate.

I reckon it was not meant to be.

Somehow, someday, i was back in KL and decided to call the Axcess ticket counter to try my

puny luck.

What the operator mentioned simply took my breath away.

"Yes, we still have free seating tickets but the numbered seats are all taken."

There were no thinking twice, there wasn't a need to anyway.

Next thing i knew, i had a pair of tickets in my hands.

And, it costs ONLY RM68!

Tell me, was it all worth it?

Sure it was!

Since hubby wasn't ard, Zura took the liberty to accompany me.

Thanx, babe.

We both enjoyed ourselves like crazy!

I hope he will go on a tour again.

And, i wana be one of the first to grab those tix.

I am back from a great getaway.

We managed to tour Bahrain, Dubai & Abu Dhabi.

Though it was winter, it was bearable.

However, Bahrain was way colder than the other emirates i visited.

I had to waste my moolah getting some winter wear which i left back home.

As some of you may know, I don't handle the cold too well.

So there goes some unnecessary spending!

Anyways, before i update pictures of my trip, i shall do a quick update on my birthday on the

16th.

Oh, a big thank you to those who wished.

I had simple birthday celebration with the husband.

As it was a working day, we celebrated it at the stroke of midnight & resumed after 5pm.

heheh...

Though it was a simple one, it held many beautiful memories for us.

It was yummy!!!

Next was a movie date at GSC, Pavilion.

Leaving On a Jet Plane

I am at T2 waiting for the flight for the much anticipated getaway.

Will be away for 10 days or so.

Both hubby & i are in dire need of this holiday.

Hopefully it will end the year on a sweet note before ushering the new year in.

This is an interesting one.

Aznani & Zamani drove up to KL & paid us a visit.

We had a great dinner together at TGIF, Curve when Zam decided to join hubby for a game of

futsal.

Drove back to our apartment to grab an extra attire & boots for him

The wifeys had to stick faithfully while they had their dose of soccer.

It was honestly a night of fun.

The husbands had fun, the wives had their usual catching up session.

Our day ended at 3am which we then send them back to their hotel.

Hope to do this again, Az & Zam.

And, you know there is no need for hotels!

Aftermuch deliberation, Zam decided to join hubby for his weekly futsal.

So, we drove home to get a spare attire for him.

Then, futsal was at PJ.

I am in Kerteh as i speak.

Not exacly for a holiday but to accompany the husband who is on a job onsite for the next few

days.

Yesterday, the weather was rather dark & gloomy.

The incessant rain & grey skies turned my day into a sullen one.

Rainy days are perpetually depressing, aren't they?

However today, i woke up to a bright, sunny day.

The early morning light streaked through the curtains and lightly penetrated my cheeks.

The empty beach the day before began attracting beach-goers and were filled with the kids'

screams of joy & their laughter.

Now, that is a better day.

I will be staying in the hotel room surfing the net & read up the magazines.

Doing that till the husband comes back in the evening.

Then, we will be out for dinner.

I was craving for some durians so perhaps will go on a durian hunt tonight, durian kampung to

be exact.

And so, the dreadful exams has approached its end!

If there is one thing i'd like to do most now is to catch up on my sleep.

For the past few weeks, i have been as a good as a walking zombie.

One thing for sure, i can breathe a sigh of relief that the mugging period is officially over.

Now, it is time to let my hair down, think of nothing else and simply enjoy the holiday!!!

So as soon as the exam ended at 10.30am this morning, we headed to SOGO for a karaoke

session.

Then, we did a little shopping for some essentials and headed back to my home.

A nice nap did all the trick.

We woke up a little recharged.

Had a nice dinner together at a nearby mall.

Though feeling sluggish, we agreed on something we had been anticipating for a long

time now.

The day ended on a good note.

Tomorrow is a brand new day for us as we head back home where our hearts are.

Can't wait to be home again...

Today marks a very special day to someone closest to my heart.

I threw him a surprise birthday celebration which totally caught him off guard.

This year, i wasn't well prepared for his birthday at all.

I had no plans in mind & i didn't managed to get him a pressie on time too as currently it is

unavailable.

So, it's all about bad timing.

Then i thought why not invite some of his buddies over for a simple birthday cum raya gathering

at midnite as his birth day waves hello?

It was absolutely last minute, but i am glad it turned out just fine.

Thank you mum for the food which she sneaked in & thank you buddies for making last minute

arrangements (like putting their babies to sleep, rushing off from their dinner dates in town

etc) to be at our place at midnight.

And, thank you birthday boy for putting up with my act of taking my time to dress up while u

had to wait impatiently.

Overall, it was a lovely affair.

The Grand Prix

The time has finally come...

F1 night race starts today.

I bet the one excited the most will be my hubby.

So much so that he bought himself 2 pairs of F1 t-shirts & got me a pair too to watch the

race in.

For sure the crowd of people watching the race is gonna be such a killer so, we have decided to

give up the car and go public today.

Parking the car at Novena & then take the train to City Hall and walk to esplanade where our

seats are located.

It is gonna be a new experience for the husband as he hasn't been on any public transportation

since we dated.

That makes it more or less 8 years ago.

Oh well, im hoping it will be a great night for us both.

I will for sure enjoy my train ride to town.

Age Defy?

I got myself a new set of facial care product.

Not too sure how effective this product will be though.

One thing, i do not have patience for facial rituals.

I normally do not have a particular facial regime.

It takes up too much time & is such a hassle, methink.

Usually, i'd buy on impulse and then it ends up as a white

elephant exceeding its expiry date which i eventually will discard.

But recently, it just hit me.

I have decided to age gracefully.

Someone told me it's about time i give my skin some tender loving care that it deserves.

If not for myself, at least for the husband.

Hahaha...

Perhaps, he wouldn't even notice.

So, it's worth a shot lah huh?

Lost & Found???

While i was back in Spore & reading the Berita Harian as usual, there was a shocking revelation.

A family was looking for my maternal grandpa's side of the family.

Oh the truth is, my maternal family line is rather vague.

I am only aware of who my grandparents, immediate aunts, uncles & cousins are but anything beyond that, i have no frigging idea who makes up the family tree.

You see, my maternal grandpa is a convert.

So that explains why we hv no traces of his history or background.

It had always been a 'mystery'.

So this family who was looking for my grandpa is apparently his sister.

So, since grandpa has since passed on, mum took the task of getting in touch with the reporter who wrote this article in search of her roots.

And the outcome is still not known yet.

I hope this raya will be a better one for my mum & her family if that family from PJ is indeed related to us by blood.

My Sunday was spent on a fieldwork at Mediacorp Radio.

Since i was on it alone, i forced my 2 sisters to join the quest.

One was my interviewer & the other as my videoman.

It was so much fun.

I learnt things i never knew before especially what goes on behind the daily routine of a radio deejay.

It was such a great experience.

Home Sweet Home

While we were driving back home from KL to Singapore, i was very much fascinated by the

clouds above so i took a few shots of it.

It has been raining every single day till i was beginning to lose sight of a bright, sunny day.

So what did we do when we were back in Spore?

The husband would never miss the Timberland sale for anything else in the world.

The crowd drove us insane though.

We grabbed many good buys.

I got myself two pairs of footwear - a pair of sandals & a pair of boots.

The husband got some good steals too - 2 pairs of shoes & some shirts.

Steal of a deal, needless to say.

Then again, the maddening crowd was just too much for us and so we left soon after.

Lunch was at Fish & Co, Suntec City as we really missed the chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream

First & foremost i would like to thank Dila & Ardi for the ticket access to this exclusive event.

I am really sorry they had to miss this opportunity.

So, it was my first trip to Angkasapuri to watch Exclusif Bersama Siti.

This was a special recording for a Hari Raya show and ironically, we came wearing everything

else but a baju raya.

Shame on us!

Siti was as resplendent, as always.

She is beautiful beyond words.

I was never her die hard fan, really.

But lately, the feeling just grew by leaps and bounds.

Not to mention the fact that she is a natural beauty which i totally envy.

Plus, a great, melodious voice to boot which obviously gained her many worshippers.

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

What's more being ushered to the front seats with a perfect view of the diva herself.

Last Wed was a day held especially to welcome our 'little brothers & sisters' who had just joined

us in UM.

So, it was a getting to know session between them and their seniors.

Apart from welcoming them into the faculty, we do welcome them to get adjusted to the

anticipated headaches, hassles & stress that comes along naturally with being a uni student.

We should have given them a box of Panadols instead of the files to prepare them for all stress

related matters.

hahaha...

But hey, being a student is one of the best times in our life, isn't it?

I am now packing my stuffs to go to Sabah where my hubby is.

Flight is at 5pm.

Next week is a term break for us.

A week long break.

The one we need oh so badly.

Therefore i've decided to join the husband instead of staying back in KL without him during my break.

He's been there for almost a week now.

Gosh, really miss him to bits.

I can't wait to be in Sabah and try out the seafood.

Last weekend, the husband happened to be in town so we spent the day out.

Had lunch at Pastamania and dessert at Haagen Dazs.

To our horror, dessert was doubly expensive than our meal.

I made a wrong choice of choosing mooncake ice cream no matter how irresistable and cute it looked.

So deceiving, small yet costs a bomb.

Would you believe if i say it costs us Rm80++ for desserts alone?

The mooncake itself costs Rm40++.

Ridiculous!

At the end of the day, we had burnt a big hole in our pockets.

It is Friday.

The only day of the week that i do not have any classes.

And of all days, it's sad to be staying at home alone with a flu, fever & sore throat bugging the crap out of me.

I envisioned my Friday to be a good one with a nice dinner out and a movie with the husband.

Looking at the rate i'm in, i doubt i have any energy left of me.

You know people, she is staying at the same apartment as mine.

I saw her the other day while working out at the gym.

Well, a really sweet, attractive lady, i must say.

And last night, i saw her again.

She was at the apartment's lobby waiting for her car.

She had bags with her wedding dreses in it.

She must be leaving for the airport to Italy where her wedding will be held at Lake Como on the 9th.

So, i hope to see her around often after marriage so i can congratulate her personally.

Ok, last weekend while we were bk in Spore, we received a parcel we've been waiting for a long,

long time now.

The happiest person of all would be the husband.

That goes without saying lah huh?

Coz, after a long wait, we finally received our passes to the much anticipated F1 this September.

Wow, it's been more than half a month i haven't been blogging.

Blame it on school, if i must.

I have been in full speed since school reopened.

Lotsa assignments to work on.

Last week, my group mates which also include 2 Malaysian boys were at my place for a movie

screening of Memoirs of a Geisha.

It was for a group project we will work on together.

Apart from the screening, we had lotsa fun and laughter just chatting away especially with Lan's

& Yaya's (the 2 msian boys) antics.

Laughed ourselves silly till the jaws ached.

Oh, Zura of coz cooked her signature fish & chips while Lan did his specialty, caramel pudding.

Today, the new school term starts.

So, that means more time spent on campus.

I'm not too sure if i'm all geared up for this semester.

Hopefully by the 2nd week i would have warmed up.

Now into our 2nd year, we're no longer freshies!!!

On a more serious note, July comes with mid year resolutions for the husband & i.

We hope to be able to successfully achieve it, at least keep it going steadily, healthily & progressively.

Recently in KL, i shifted to a new home.

As much as i am excited to move in to a bigger new home, i am heartbroken to vacant the house i have somewhat created a connection with for the past one year.

Well, life goes on i reckon.

Changes are bound to happen.

It was time to bid goodbye to Phi Phi & back to Krabi.

As soon as we reached Krabi, we checked in to a gorgeous hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially soon to be honeymooners.

What's a beach holiday without a trip to the spa, right?

Once we settled down, i called the in house spa & made a reservation.

All i can say is, it is very pricey*gulps* but hey, it's all worth it.

We felt so pampered and totally rejuvenated after the whole session.

After getting soaked to the skin & all wrinkled up, we got ready for dinner.

Since it was our last day, we both chose the first restaurant we went to on the first day which left us too caught up in our dinner.

Phi Phi Island - Day 4

Hi!

I have been uber busy with the hassle of moving from one apartment to another.

I've just shifted to a new place last Friday.

It has been a back-breaking procedure.

Apart from being occupied with all you need to do in a new home, we haven't had the internet installed just yet.

That explains the slow update.

Im late in updating on the remaining pictures of the trip.

So here goes...

I felt as if i was in Bahamas.

That was the view from our room.

So, the fourth day was all free & easy.

Just resting & relaxing, all at our own sweet time.

We stayed at the beach till late afternoon before heading back to the hotel to clean up and going back to the beach to catch the sunset & explore more sunset shots.

Phi-Phi Island - Day 3

The 3rd & 4th day were spent at Phi Phi Island.

It's a very beautiful place to visit and is one of those places everybody should go at least once in their lifetime.

It is one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand.

The place has a good vibe and nightlife and there are dozens of dive shops to choose from.

So, we took a boat to Phi Phi from Krabi pier.

Phi Phi residents are predominantly Muslims.

We had no problems looking for halal food.

Upon checking in, we checked out the activities they have at the various shops along the streets and eventually signed up for the half day sunset trip.

Honestly, it was an amazing boat cruise packed with activities.

Sailing in the boat, snorkelling, kayaking & having dinner while watching the sunset in the middle of the sea.

Hunny & i had a ball of a time.

This picture above shows a small island of limestone cave which is uninhabited apart from 5 bird nest harvesters who are allowed to stay on the island to collect bird nests with the intention to sell. Their job is one that is very highly perilous as they had to climb those white poles to collect the bird nests from every nook and cranny of the cave.

3. the boat parked & we hd to swim to the rocks and walked through the caves to reach the Maya Bay, the beach of the eponymous movie "The Beach".

4. After an hour & half at Maya beach, we walked & swam the same way back to the boat.

We then went cruising along the coast which offers breathtaking views of the sea, cliffs, islands & limestone caves.

Eventually, dinner was in the middle of the ocean while watching the sun sets.

How often can anyone do that?

Such bliss.

We were quite burnt out at the end of the whole experience.

And, famished too.

So, after we returned to the hotel and freshened up, it was time to search for some good halal food.

We found one by the sea and spent our evening there just eating and chatting the night away.

Krabi - Day 2

Day 2

On our second day there, we went for an exciting elephant jungle trekking, a river cruise to the limestone cave, a visit to the fish farm & pineapple farm.

Hunny took over the "wheel" while i struggled alone at the backseat.

Its especially terrifying when the elephant goes into the river streams and the mud. It gets unstable on that big body.

So, i decided to take charge & took over the "wheel" and navigate my way through till end of the journey.

Honestly, it scared the shit out of me cos i'm totally left alone to take charge while the husband did some help by laughing at me.

Hey, it not easy sitting on the elephant's neck cos it gets wobbly at most times & the ears kept flapping over my legs.

I was practically tugging onto its head the entire time.

And, at times it just won't listen.

It'll stop at any opportunity to eat the leaves, break the branches/bamboos, pee & shit as & when it wishes.

Off we go for the river cruise on the long tail boat to see the mangrove swamps & limestone cliff.

Back to the hotel, freshened up, packed our swimming gears & beach towels and off we go to Railey beach by the long tail boat.

Railey beach is one of the better beaches than Ao Nang.

So, we had a good swim for a couple of hours before going back to Ao Nang.

Krabi - Day 1

I am back from a great holiday.

One of the best beach holidays i've ever had.

Too many pictures to share but i shall pick and choose only a handful to upload while the rest will

be uploaded in my multiply.

And, i will update one day at a time so that there will not be too much of an eyesore.

Day 1

Reached Krabi International Airport.

Checked in to Alis Resort & Spa, Ao Nang.

Went for a swim at the private pool.

Rented a bike.

Toured Ao Nang.

Checked out the beaches.

Back to hotel.

Went for another dip in the pool while watching the sunset.

Out for a sumptuous Thai seafood dinner (i'm missing that very much!!!).

Had a walk along the streets of the bustling night market which seemed neverending hoping to burn at least half the calories gained from the heavy dinner.

Back to the bike and rode around the island for abit before calling it a day.

The husband had an ad-hoc meeting in Malacca without any prior warning.

The meeting was stretched over 2 days.

He had to stay for a night without having any extra clothes for that very important meeting.

So, i had to drive down to Malacca to send him some fresh clothes.

Alone, mind you!

But i'm glad i did coz i had a gd time there while accompanying the husband.

Apart from the superb hotel, seafood and shopping was good too.

Reached Spore about 9.45 pm due to the jam at Tuas Checkpoint.

The weekend was spent accompanying my godsister to a wedding.

Well, i basically have no idea who the bride or groom is.

Anyhow,

Congratulations Azim & Mastura on your marriage.

Well, I am in Terengganu now as i'm typing away.

Accompanying the husband on his work trip until Thursday which then we will return to KL.

And then, it's a trip back to Spore on Friday to send my parents off at the airport as they fly to Shanghai for their vacation.

Saturday is especially reserved for a friend's wedding reception.

Come Sunday, we'll drive back to KL as the husband prepares for another work week and we have to prepare for the upcoming trip on Wednesday as well.

A tight schedule, I must say.

But hey, I'm not complaining.

I'm glad i accompanied him cos yesterday the Sultan of Terengganu declared a public holiday as they won the SUKMA (no idea wat that is!). So, the husband & I drove to Kuala Terengganu abt 2 hours away for some sightseeing and shopping.

A Little Reunion

My lil cousin from the States came back to Spore during his vacation to pay us a visit.

We haven't met for a couple of years now.

The last time i saw him was when he was still a little boy.

Now, he has changed a great deal.

His voice has changed totally - a mature tone.

He has a major shift of interest - from soccer to acting.

He is a 2nd year student in an acting school.

He aspires to be a well known actor someday hoping to star in at least one Hollywood movie.

For the fact that he is 19 years of age now, he is in love with a white girl.

A mummy's boy who is now staying on his own since he is in a uni in Florida many miles away from the family home.

He is no longer that little baby who sulks all the time when being teased.

He is all grown up.

Sigh...

Then again, he is still as cute as ever with the very obvious dimples and signature laughter.

We had a great time catching up.

Since i couldn't meet him when i was back in Spore last week, we made it a point to meet up when he came to KL this week to visit his grandma.

So, last evening was a heartfelt reunion.

We enjoyed ourselves thouroughly rite Abdullah Hanis Siddiq?

I hope you will drop by my place this weekend before you make your way home next week.

Oh off the record, we bumped into Aznani & Zamani who was shopping at Petaling Street. They joined us for a drink till past midnite.

A Monsoon Wedding

One of my besties got hitched last weekend.

I am absolutely overjoyed for she is in the good hands of a man who is totally in love with her

regardless of anything and everything.

They have been together for the longest time after being through many obstacles along the way.

Their love story is magical.

Their union was held at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple.

It was a typical Indian wedding with lotsa colours, saris, sweets and jasmines.

Oh, while i was penning down a wedding wish on her guest book, i saw she wrote this on one of

the pages,

Gee, i know u meant it as a joke but i'm sure if given a chance to turn back time, i bet you

wouldn't want to lay your eyes on any other.

It'll still be him you'd steal glances at.

A Brief One..

I spent my Friday evening with someone sweet.

She dated me out since it was the last day of school term.

We had a nice long chat over dinner @ East Coast Food Centre.

When we were done with dinner, Ida, Hajar & a friend of theirs along with her cute baby dropped by since we were still there.

It was one of those rare moments that i feed a baby from a bottle.

Honestly, i don't know how to handle a baby cos they look so fragile.

I was afraid i'd drop them at any point of time.

But hey, on that day i overcame that fear partially!

Ok, that was a little experience i had handling a baby.

Back to my date with Nisa, hopefully we'l have another one.

Perhaps this time with the rest.

A Sequel

Right after we reached Harbour Front from Batam, we drove to JB for a makan session with the

in laws as it was ma-in-law's birthday.

Soon after, we rushed from JB to Downtown East chalet for a gathering session with the cousins

to welcome my cousin, Kak Eda who flew back from Paris to pay us her royal visit.

It was indeed an exhausting day for both the husband & i.

The fatigue died off once i saw the cousins.

Afterall, it was a good day i had.

Come to think of it, we were in 3 different countries in just one day.

Breakfast in Batam, lunch in Malaysia & dinner in Singapore.

Hahaha...

I Wanna Break Free

The weekend was spent in Batam where the husband had a short meeting in the morning.

So, the husband booked a nite's stay for the short break that i so well deserved as promised.

This is getaway part 1.

While it was too short a break, the company of your soulmate makes up for it.

It was all worth it.
