Tech Crazziee...

My gut feeling tells me he read my mind. The husband woke up early and was busy in the kitchen. I peeked and saw he was thawing the chicken wings and preparing a sauce of some sort. All these before seeing himself through a shower and with a bare body.

thanx hunny for fixing dinner

I reckon i was in for some luck. But he told me he is preparing for dinner instead. And the menu for this evening would be buffalo wings with caesar's salad. That's good enough. I am not pushing my luck any further.

N so, i decided to fix a quick brunch. Tuna sandwich and kiwi yogurt drink.

half each

i'm raring to go

After brunch, we went to Sim Lim Sq in search of a new notebook. Not that the current one has been giving us headaches but husband suggested we upgrade to a better one since i will be hitting the books again pretty soon. Sim Lim was drowned out by the human crowd. We had to park at a carpark which was quite a distant away.

We had a couple of models in mind but undecided which to go for. We've to do our homework even thorough. Decided not to rush into anything just yet. Instead, we bought ink cartridges, SD cards & a nice white thumbdrive for myself since i lost mine end of last year(sob..sob).

the IT savvy hubby

he bothered queuing up for a good bargain...just look at the queue

but sure it was the best bargain so far...thumbs up hunny

We felt hungry soon after. But we figured maybe we should go to Funan to intensify our search on good bargains n grab a bite there. The last time i went to Funan was like eons ago. Some changes here and there. But my favourite Tricon is still there. We grabbed a bite and rested our feet.

Tricon - the freedom of choice

Done with surveying, we walked all the way to City Hall. Did some window shopping. With the husband, it's tough to get swayed by the calling of the boutiques. For the first time, we tried the Fried Mars Bar found at the basement. A colleague introduced me to this but we never had the chance to try it. Yummy...but no doubt fattening especially with the chocolate ice-cream & the chocolate sauce!

so sinful...

but who cares?

we don't...

Went home to catch Maghrib. As promised, hubby fixed dinner. I plunked myself clumsily onto the sofa and rested while waiting for dinner to be served.

On a more serious note, i am still contemplating on which notebook to go for. I am no IT savvy. I do not know what makes a good notebook. I am not into specifications, i'm pro cosmetics. I am attracted to the outlook. Husband, the more practical person has to repeatedly remind me to look out for certain specifications but to me all look the same. Ok maybe the processing speed should be faster or maybe be 1.8GHz & above.

Since i'm pro cosmetics, i'd prefer Apple I-Book for its sleek, white body, a Sony VAIO for its choice of colours and HP Pavillion for its wide screen & sleek black colour. But the very particular husband wants something more practical and something which works as good as it looks. He says, i will need time to get used to I-Book as it is not the same as other makes and its accessories are costly. Sony is just nice on the outlook and its lower range is already on a steep side, wats more if we go for the mid or higher range. N we shouldn't settle for the lower range as it is really not worth paying that much for very crappy specs. With that amount, we could have gotten a higher range of a different make. For HP, it is just too expensive since they only produce higher range notebooks.

Husband suggested Acer since we've been using it for a good 4 years w/o it throwing any tantrums on us. So far, it has been a pleasant journey with the Acer. So he says we should upgrade to a higher range since the pricing is within reach. He was also contemplating on Compaq and Fujitsu. Bottem line is, we both have no darn idea which is the best deal. We still have time, hunny. Let's not rush or buy under pressure.

Which should we go for?

Apple I-Book

Sony VAIO VGN-C25GP available in Black, Seashell White, Pink, Green, Grey & Blue

The very reliable & trusted Acer Aspire with in-built webcam

HP Pavillion which is top of the range

Fujitsu which i'm totally not crazy about

I have a personal favourite though but i'm not receptive to changes. So mebe that choice has to go. Anyone out there knows which is the best deal?
