My Special Moment

Yesterday, 16th December, was the day i grew a year older and wiser.
It was my birth anniversary.
Nevermind the digits, as long as I am aging progressively & gracefully.
*in denial mode*

The truth is, time is really moving too fast at an alarming rate.
I'm losing breath simply trying to catch up.

It feels like just yesterday i was carrying my Eastpak schoolbag and tying my shoelaces for the first time to school.
I recalled that i was always the youngest in class being a December baby.
Since i graduated from high school and leaped a big step forward into tertiary education, i began to make friends with people who were younger in age.

The numbers just get smaller by the day.
It gets scary at times, you know.
Seemed like the world is mocking me.
Sigh...

Ok, paranoia aside please!

Let's talk about good things.
When the clock struck midnite on the 16th, i had almost countless texts from friends that lasted till the very last hour.
Speaking of which, a handful of them are those from my high school days.
It's been eons since i left school but still receive birthday wishes every single year without fail from these friends who make the effort to remember my birthdate.
We may not meet as often as we want it to be, but for sure the friendship forged will last a lifetime, Insyallah.
Girls, your thoughts & prayers are deeply appreciated.
I thank God for all of you.

Anyhow, the celebration i had with the husband was simple but perfect.
From the gift to the card, the cake, the movie date, the little outing which was eventually wrapped up with a dinner date.
Simply put, it was perfectly perfect!

My day began with a kiss planted by the husband, mum & papa on a bright, sunny Sunday morning.
Followed by a movie date at Shaw Plaza with the husband.
Went back home only to be surprised with a cake.

At home celebrating birthday with the family.

if i hv one wish, i'd wish for ________!!!

Second half of the day, the husband tried creating some suspense by playing the guessing game on where the next destination would be.

Lemme guess where you bringing me to!
Hmmmmm...

But hey, i guessed it right after 3 attempts, ok!

err...where u looking at, love?

upon reaching the destination

I remember telling the husband last month that i had wanted to visit this particular place during this holiday since i've never been there(paiseh, paiseh!!!). N so, being the sweet husband that he is, he made my wish come true on my special day.

@ the Night safari

can u see how elated i was?

But i wasn't properly attired for the occasion. Imagine walking through the trails in a pair of heels. Ouch...

the card that meant a whole lot more

We had our dinner at midnite at Swensen's Crown Prince after the trip to Night Safari.

Sadly, my camera died on me at the very last minute.

Captured some on the camera phone which have yet to be uploaded.

Once again, thank you dear husband for the well planned birthday surprises.

A simple birthday with a bang!

I love everything that u had done.

You make all things possible for me.

I had a good day & a good time yesterday.

Sorry that we couldn't proceed to Hard Rock for the live screening of the big showdown between Liverpool & Man U.

I'll make it up to you, how about that?

p/s: I do pity the husband who has to spend quite a hefty sum of money on year-end vacation, my birthday & our wedding anniversary in December alone each year. So he really gotta scrimp & save towards year end. I wish i could help...

Sorry baby, i hope to graduate at the soonest so that i can contribute to the household again.

As much as i want time to pass quickly, i'd rather take one day at a time.

*smiles*
