Verses of Love
Last evening, I watched Ayat-Ayat Cinta with my mum and sisters @ Downtown East.
It was one of the most phenomenal films i've watched.
Apparently, it is the most talked about film in the history of the Indonesian motion picture
industry.
I fell in love with Fahri for the character he played as well as Aisya who mesmerised me with her
dazzling eyes.
I marvelled at her strength as a wife who went through great lengths to set her husband free
even if it means allowing Fahri to marry Maria.
Aisya regaled me with her undying love for Fahri even after a short courtship.
I almost choked up to tears when Fahri married the beautiful Maria at the hospital and Aisya
ran out crying unable to witness that moment.
A scene that touched me the most.
As a wife, i felt her pain.
I believe it's never easy to share your husband with another woman.
It takes great courage to allow your husband to marry someone else.
I'll NEVER have that courage to do so.
I'd give the movie two thumbs up.
My mum enjoyed it, i bet we did too.
However, i heard that the famous novel with the same title written by Habiburrahman El-
Shirazy is a better read than the movie itself.

The full story of the movie was different, compared to the original novel.
So, if you haven't, go and catch the movie before the screening ends.
It's worth it.
